Radio 1 Big Weekend
The RADIO 1 BIG WEEKEND is a flagship event for BBC Radio 1. Not to mention the other BBC TV, Radio and online channels that film, record and broadcast the event from every conceivable angle !
Now in it's 8th year it is one of the premium events of the UK Summer calendar. Traditionally its always the first big outdoor show of the year.
EMO have been involved with the event since 2004 when they were contracted to organise and run the second stage at the Perry Park show in Birmingham. Since then our involvement has steadily increased until last year when we took on the role of overall site managers of the show in Mote Park in Maidstone which featured a mind blowing performance from Madonna. The site management role covers the whole process of planning and delivering the site layout and infrastructure as well as being part of the licensing team for the event working closely with the BBC, local authorities and other agencies to ensure the show runs smoothly and safely.
This year we are off to Lydiard Park in Swindon to do it all again. Maybe see you there if you're lucky enough to get a ticket! |
