"Have you ever done a gig down a mine?" the voice on the telephone wondered .........
This was the start of an 18 month journey which culminated in a week of incredible theatrical Dance & Drama performances in the limestone mines of Dudley.
The project was concieved and run by Leaps & Bounds, a local organisation with a history of amazing projects behind them. At the heart of the project was a group of underprivileged young people from the local area for whom Wrosne was an incredibly positive and life-changing experience.
The mines are connected via the canal network. The audience for the shows occupied two narrowboats which travelled around the network to see the story unfold at the 6 performance areas in the mines and tunnels of the wrens nest.
For the shows themselves EMO provided the technical expertise and innovation to transform the canal and mine network into six separate performance areas complete with Sound, Light and Video production - and a floating stage.
